Down at Reddingtom beach the black Skimmers are taking the babies down to the waterresulting in some major defensive action. I got a few good action frames but this one was the sharpest.

Well done, Cheryl!

I love the action and getting both birds sharp is a real feat.

I can't imagine having enough light to shoot at 1/4000th.

Great action and good work getting both birds in focus. I haven't had much success capturing the skimmer skirmishes, so I'm envious.

Great action, with beaks open and eyes focussed on each other.
Well captured. The image seems a little cool / blueish to me, but otherwise lovely.
Thx for sharing

Really like the fighting postures of both skimmers Cheryl. Both birds look sharp and this tough exposure looks good.

Cool! More wonderful Skimmers! And more jealously that I've never seen them, much less got a truly awesome action shot like this! :toast:

Perfect action capture, Cheryl.

Maybe on a glacier on a bright summer day I'd have enough light up here in Alaska to shoot f6.3 at 1/4000 and ISO320. Wow.

Great action shot with detail and sharpness that are really hard to do. Definitely a good example of your fine work.

Superb action, Cheryl. I love the open beaks and the way the wings and tails are spread.

Awesome behavior action photo Cheryl!!! Excellent detail and wing positions. I'm curious how this would look in a vertical format, could be another cover photo.

Excellent, not easy to get both in focus and to capture the precise moment of contact like this. Exposure is very good as well. With that background it would be possible to add canvas if you wanted; I'd also suggest a vertical composition.
