I normally post in the Flora Forum but occasionally shoot a bug  . It happens to be today.

ND200, 200mm F/4 Micronikkor, F/9, 1/200 Sec, ISO200 and Tripod in strong mid day sun. Shot horizontal and cropped for composition

All thoughts and comments Welcome.

Ram:

DFs are my favorite bug. This one is beautiful. I like the clarity and color in the DF and the perch (rose) as well. The BG can't be sweeter. :toast:

Nice capture Ram. To bad the wing tips couldn't be focus but I know its difficult without the background showing up. I seen a DF while on my vacation in Northern Minnesota that grabbed another flying insect right out of the air. It was cool I didn't know they did that.

Ram, outstanding detail in the wings! I really like the OOF areas, as it gives a sense of motion. Really nice.

Todd, It could be done but the issue will be one of magnification and hence the background. These are very small dragonflies - their tail alone is about one inch and the whole dragonfly may be inch and a half (give or take some). If I back off too much then details will be lost so I went for this compromise.
