Nice shot, I like the point of view and the rock and waves. Nice wing position on the egret and the whites are handled well. Would be helpful is you post the equipment and settings. You can also post a larger version. Nice work.

A perspective on the take-off that I like and you got a nice head turn to go with it Peter. I think your composition works well and I like the mood provided by the dark water. The head seems a little soft but hard to judge effectively at this small size. If you'd provide your techs, critique could be much more effective.

I like the composition and the unusual angle of looking down on the Egret in flight, Peter. The exposure looks good. It's difficult to judge sharpness of such a large bird in the 720 pixel image, but it looks reasonable. It helps with critiques if you post your shooting parameters (camera, lens, f-stop, iso, shutter speed, and any processing information that might affect image quality-particularly crop size) so people can make more intelligent comments.

Welcome to the forum. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

Welcome Peter, I like the composition with the birds wings at a diagonal and your exposure looks good. You didn't list what lens and/or teleconverter you used but one thought would be you may not have needed that much depth of field (F11) and by going down to say F8 or F9 that would have gotten you more shutter speed which is helpful for sharpness. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. :toast:
