As a child, I could remember looking at these wonders of nature.

Let me know what you think please, and thanks for looking.

Beautiful lines and colors, and very creative image of cattails, which are indeed wonderful.

Very strong colours. Is it natural? The light and the contrast is mavelous. Nicely done Bob.

Bob:
The colors are striking - the blue bg makes the red on the cat-tails that much more vivid.

I agree with Miro. The colors are beautiful, though not realistic to my eye (caveat: I'm looking at this on my Imac). However, if you're after a striking, artistic rendition of these cattails, I think this works very well.

I played with these things a lot as kid Bob and I remember my Mom making dried arrangements out of them. I drive through a patch of them every day on my way to work and routinely shoot red wings on them. This is a fine a composition of them as I remember seeing. I particularly like the energy created by the diagonals. In shooting grasses there's almost always one or two stems that break the pattern and flow but I don't see anything here. It all works for me.
On my MacBook using a Safari browser, the color looks natural for light under a clear sky. You could desaturate it just very slightly I suppose but without seeing the other comments, I wouldn't have commented on it.
Beautiful image. I like it very much.

These colors really pop and the water drops on the leaves are great. Nice angle leading into the shot and the detail is wonderful. As children, my brother and I used them as slurry bombs when they got a little riper. When you threw them on a rock they would explode into a creamy fluffy cloud. Your image brings back great memories. Thanks

Bob: I think cattails are great subjects and I really like your take here. The BG reflections are a real plus for me as well. Nicely done.>=))>

Well Bob, I really like the comp emphasizing the diagonals. I also like the colour triad.
However, I must tell you I have an ongoing battle to remove them from my pond. Favorite salad for muskrats who dig holes into the berm walls and are a constant problem.

Strong verticals criss crossed by the drooping green grass. The blue is striking and really makes the brownish cattails stand out. Lovely Photo

Graceful with intense colors, which lead to slight disbelief until you notice that the background does not seem over saturated. Well done.
