Sensational image quality, fine composition and pleasing pose. Would be nice to see the shrub and its green leaves more diffusely distributed at the bottom or not present at all, although its presence is still a bonus, but just barely.

A nice photo of a small creature. I like the pose on the stump. Where did you take it? I can't really tell from the photo if this critter has white eye stripes, but it does not look like it which could make this a golden mantled ground squirrel. thanks for sharing.

This is a fantastic one Verdon- best chipmunk I have seen in ages. The detail is great, the focus on the cheeks is perfect. Job well done! :toast: :toast:

Hi Verdon,

There's lots to like about this image - the pose is great (and those cheeks are real eye-catching), you couldn't have a much cleaner background, you have the subject on a very nice perch, the lighting is somewhat diffuse - it's all here! My only small nit is with the bright vegetation at the bottom of the frame - between how much brighter it is than anything else in the frame (which really pulled my eye away from the subject) and the fact that it's pretty much out of focus, to me it becomes a discordant element in the composition and weakens the image a little. But overall still a strong shot...

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...
