Cindy,

I like the mood of this but I don't think the composition is working for me. The flowers seem to me to be nearly lost in this between the bright sky and the dark limbs. And for whatever reason my eye is drawn to the lower left corner of the image. I think I'd probably like more light and sharper focus on the blooms themselves. I do like the mood but I'd try to find some way to better emphasize the subject.

Cindy: A tighter crop around the main bunch of blossoms would be my suggestion. Normally strong BG light like this bugs me but it works here as a framing device. Well seen and an intriguing shot.>=))>

Like Pat said, I too like the mood here  . The frame appears a bit busy to me with many elements - I think flowers with a stronger color might have carried the frame a little further.

Is this crop better? The reason it is blurred is because of the Lensbaby.

Cindy,

I prefer the repost as a flora image but it did cost you some of the mood, I think. Maybe the same crop to 5:4? I haven't used a lensbaby. Is it not possible to get the blooms in focus and the rest of the image blurred? Or at least part of the blooms in focus?

Cindy: The last repost works nicely for me. I edited your title to indicate that reposts were available. You can do that yourself to alert folks that alternatives are in the thread so that they can revisit. >=))>

I also prefer the last repost also Cindy. To me it still has the mood with a stronger subject.

Cindy,

I like the repost at 5:4 the best. To me it preserves the mood but still puts more emphasis on the blooms. If the blooms on the far viewer's right bother you, it would probably be pretty easy to clone them out.
