Marsh wren

Well, after being frustrated by this species here in Florida for the past few years, I heard they were much easier to approach in Montana, so I flew out there to try and get some shots. My sources were right, they are easier to approach out west.

Ok, I did not go all the way to Montana for just marsh wrens, but it did turn out that I could get some nice images of this species while I was there last week. They are never in the open here in FL, at least not for me.

I like the early morning light, BG, and singing pose on in this shot.

Please view the larger version for max details. Thanks so much.

Wonderful pose and the details are outstanding. The blended colors in the background are excellent. It was worth the trip.

That's a orgeous shot Ron. The calling pose is so swet and the bg colors merging together is quite pleasing as well. Great detail as always. :toast:

Ron, I have the same problem with them here. I have a new spot that has a ton of marsh Wrens, but still haven't managed to get one out in the open. I am trying again tomorrow. Maybe I will get as fortunate
Anyhow, love the pose off what looks to be a cattail...especially being that it is a singing pose.

Lovely image. I like the simple perch and the light is just perfect. Soft background really focuses on the bird.

For a minute there I was wondering how far you would go for a single image. Glad you got some others.

Your trip was well worth the effort Ron. I like the simplicity of the shot. It is uncluttered with the bottom of the reeds breaking the clean lines nicely. I like the open well lit mouth and multi tone soft BG. Well done and I look forward to more from the trip. :toast:

Great singing pose. I thought the caption must be in error - March Wrens don't pose in the open like this! Guess I need to make a trip to Montana too. I like the sharpness and nice BG too.

I have nothing on this species and would be very happy with something this nice.

Ron, This is a fine image IMO. I've never been able to get such a clean shot of the species and I love that background. Perky singing pose, excellent sharpness and nice composition too. Sure glad you so enjoyed my native state! I assume that Grandma Sycamore is long gone by now...

Very nice detail for 50% of frame and I like the singing pose along with the transitional background colors, way to go.
