Nikon D300, Sigma 150 + 20mm extension tube. F/18, 1/6sec, ISO 200.

This is the first in a series of miniatures. To give you an idea of the perspective, this antique vase is only 2 1/2 inches high. The flower is a Russian Iris. Comments appreciated.

Oh my Albert....great minds must think alike. I was about to attempt to compose a similar image. I like this one alot. The comp, position of iris in the vase. AND I really like the colours. Blue being my favorite. Beautiful image all around.

Great idea Albert and a fine initial implementation. I like the placement of the iris in the vase and the placement of the vase in the frame. Excellent detail as well. I'm looking forward to the series.

Very nice. The color is awesome and really stands out from the bg. I covet that vase, it's beautiful on its own. Together, this makes a stellar composition

We call it Siberian Iris over here, Albert  . I like the slight slant to the Iris with the drooping two petals. Nice

Excellent quality Albert. The color, exposure, and details look great.
The fact that this antique vase is only 2 1/2" high does it for me - Cool
Well done! :toast:

Beautifully shot, Albert - lovely crisp detail in the flower and perfect lighting and bg - the blue of the flowers comes out superbly on the grey ! I would be interested also to see this flower in a slightly taller and thinner glass - maybe you will experiment with different glasses ?

Lovely detail, Albert, and a great idea.

At the moment, both the flower and the vase share the spotlight. I'm assuming this was your intent.

Nice job.

Albert: This is fabulous. The flower is beautiful and I like the vase as well. Can't wait to see others in the series.

Incidentally, this is the kind of image that one can spend hours playing with in PS; I would probably experiment with dark to black bg or a gradient bg. Darkening the lower half and the vase will make the flower stand out more.
