Cindy, this is my 3rd view of this poppy, and I like this as posted. For me, I like the POF, and the out of focus yellows coming in from the right. I just really like your selections here.
Oh, welcome to the gallery, hope to see many more.

Hey, Cindy! Good to see you posting over here in flora!
I like the tension you created in this image between the yellow on the right and the sharp petal edge on the left.
I'm not sure how your histogram looks, but I'm wondering how this would look with a bit more brightness, although that may not be possible.
Looking forward to seeing more of your florals.

Welcome to the Flora Gallery Cindy. Beautiful color in this. My eye immediately goes to the yellow because it seems brighter than the red to me and because it's overlaying the red. Then I discover that it's soft. So I go looking for a place to rest my eye and I find the red edge. The single edge doesn't interest me that much, so I go back to all the neat shapes in the yellow but they're not in focus so I go back to the edge. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just that the yellow area is more interesting to me. That was a long winded way of explaining that the comp doesn't work that well for me, I guess and it's just the plane of focus decision. This is all subjective of course. (smile) I hope you'll post more here and welcome again to the gallery.

Cindy:
Without reading what Pat said, I was going through the motion he described of going back and forth between the yellow and red... so I agree with Pat entirely.

Cindy: Welcome to the finest Flora gallery on the planet and thanks for an intriguing image. My first cursory glance bugged me a little since there was no sharp detail in the center but once I discovered the petal edge I found the comp much more interesting. I like the tension it creates. Nice out of the box thinking and for me a successful image. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more.>=))>
