Azalea Ablaze!

I shot this last night in the Roan Highlands along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. We've had extreme heat in the region and the rhododendron and azalea are peaking about 7 to 10 days early. It does look as though it is a banner year for the amount of blooms.

The layering works really well - and the colors too. It provides me with a beautiful and relaxing view over the landscape.

Great clouds in this shot with a beautiful warm light to them. It's a nice contrast to the cool layers of the mountains in the distance!

Jerry, I appreciate your consistent and serene composition. The repetition of the red shades in the clouds balances the image extremely well for me, and the slight slope to the right is a special element in my opinion. Besides, I really enjoy the beautiful and natural colors.

Real nice shot Jerry. Those twilight pastels make a beautiful contrast with the intense flame azaleas and the ridges rolling off into the summer haze give this a wonderful sense of depth.

Very nice dreamy pastel sky here! Love the layers and depth to this scene as well. Intense color and contrast in the reds set them off against the background nicely.

Very beautiful scene, Jerry. Brightness of the top of the sky pulls my eyes a bit, but it might just be my monitor too.

Very nice. I agree with Tony on the brightness of the sky. I like a crop down to the cloud layer and taking out that top bright band of sky.
