A month ago, the day-lilies were in bloom at my home. I liked this one, as the light played with the petals to reveal lovely, deep ruffles.

Beautiful and rich Lucy. Love the light, the crop and the dark bg. I don't have any suggestions other than that you should post these more frequently. (smile) Very fine...

thanks Pat,
I see things so differently, than when I first started posting. I am trying to really "use" and "follow" the light . I guess I should get a tripod, as all of my photos are handheld....but I don't "see" things as well. I often crawl on my belly, and take photos from so many "weird" angles, that I think I would go crazy messing around with a tripod in the woods.
My swamp scenes will still be shot during the day. The feral hogs are WAY too active at dusk and dawn. Haven't seen one in the park yet, ...but don't plan to, either. Lots of rooting around, just where I enter my favorite trails........so I come long after they're gone!

I think Pat's word, "rich" describes this perfectly. The overall softness also gives this kind of a dreamy effect for me.

You have done wonderfully with a flower that I seem to have great difficulty capturing Lucy. Great colors.

Lucy: We have had this variety in our garden and it is one of my favorites as well. I like your comp. A little bit more sharpening would bring out some more detail in the anthers and contrast in the petals. You can have the hogs. But a tripod might come in handy to whack them >=))>
