Cottonfield Sunset

I chased the moonrise one evening in September 2010, but there was a haze, so I got the sunset over cottonfields on the Natchez Trace. I decided to try to tweak the colors to the red/yellow end instead of the pink/purple end like I usually do. This is now my favorite shot as a result. I'm thinking of having it enlarged.

Nikon D300
18-200mm zoom lens
18 mm F/6.3 1/160s
Manual Exposure mode

I like the radiating rays and diagonal line of cotten Shirley. The color looks very pleasing as well.

I had to lighten up the foreground and add some saturation, too--I wish we could get colors like that naturally!

A pleasing capture of the sunset. The foreground, though a little plain has some nice reflected colour.
