This is a bee or bee mimic on a Coreopsis flower. I liked the way the yellow color of the bee matched the yellow flower. This is a straight down shot.
Canon Rebel T1i. 90mm macro lens. F/2.8 for 1/250 sec. ISO 160.

Terrific macro shot Carolyn. Those wings are splendid. I very much like shots like this that emphasize some aspect like the wings as primary. That may be the reason for your F2.8 aperture which gave you very limited DOF. Really good one.

Charlie, thanks for the ID! I looked online and researched that name and it sure looks and sounds like my bug. I recently bought an insect book but this was not in it so I wasn't sure what it was.
