Very nice Shirley. The exposure is perfect and I don't really see any noise in the sky either. The sky seems a bit cyan to me for this time of night- it might be cool to see how it looks with different white balance settings.

Shirley,

Welcome to NPN and the Landscape Gallery, great to have you here. Very nice job capturing the "starry night." Even captured some comets/falling stars as well, very cool.

Technically my only comment would be that the shadow areas in the trees is quite blue.

We could make some comments or suggestions about that, but it would be helpful if you could provide some information. What settings you used, what you tried to do, how did you expose for this, or what about processing? We have nothing to go by in order to provide better comments.

I know you had a post elsewhere having trouble posting comments and hopefully you've got that worked out. If not, feel free to contact one of us for help.

so welcome aboard and please feel free to ask questions as well, what type of feedback, if any, are you looking for, etc.

thanks,

Lon

Okay, here's the camera information. I agree about the too-blue trees, but at the time I didn't know how to selectively reduce color.
Taken Feb 11 6:52 PM

Nikon D300
18mm-200mm lens zoomed all the way out (I can't get clear focus any other way--the lens tends to slide back at closer distances when tilted up).
Aperture f/3.5
Shutter 51.7 sec
Center weighted metering
0 exposure comp

I didn't see the falling stars until I had it on the computer--that was a nice touch.
