Evening in the Cove

This is from Tom's Cove on Assateague island near it's southern extent in Virginia, where it is also part of the Chincoteague wildlife refuge. We had afternoon thunderstorms and some of the clouds hung around into the evening. Luckily the tide was out in the salt marsh and I squished my way through the spartina grass to the shore of the cove where there was some vivid green sea lettuce in the flotsam just as sun was peeking out from the storm clouds.
