Zions Beauty

I was luck to spend the day in Zion’s National Park back in march. One of my favorite places is from the upper road entrants just past the tunnel. I have found a lot of small slot canyons in this area.
An overcast rainy & light snowy day really brought out some of the textures and color.
Comments always welcome, thanks for looking.

Very nice shot and an excellent composition. I have to admit I don't find the water color particularly appealing, but it does bring back good memories of some slot canyon trips that involved considerable time traipsing through similarly murky water. I don't know whether this would work well in B&W but it might be something to experiment with (even setting aside whether the water color is pleasing or not).

I like this Kyle, here's why, I don't see the murky water ever really emphasized as a main part of the composition unless it's reflecting the canyon in it. It's simple.

Such a unique take on a slot - I've never seen one like this. No crazy colors, just a solid comp with some beautiful earth tones.

Very cool image. I like the color contrasts, the S curve, and the tonality.

Kyle,

This is wonderful, I love this image. Not only is it a unique capture of a slot canyon, but technically I think this is wonderfully processed as well. The murky/muddy water just gives this image a dose of reality for me - even without ever having been in a slot canyon. And the composition is just flowing and perfectly balanced. The lone loose boulder helps tell so many stories and creates a lot of wonder...
Great stuff Kyle!

This is cool and the water doesn't bother me either. In a way it makes the image more real to me. What really catches my eyes here are the composition, the rock detail, and the crazy brownish/redish/bronzish (I don't think that's a word) colors of the rock. Really cool.

I like the curves and how the rain has deepened the color and made the rock shine. The rounder rock in the water makes a nice focal point. Nice.

That's just my kind of shot, Kyle and I love the execution. Looks like a "brother" to my recent shot posted in "Landscape" here. Great balanced composition, nice contrast and clarity overall. I hope you got more from this amazing place.

Great detail in the red rocks, and set off well by the water's colour.
Nice!

Excellent composition, and great details. Not exactly a wall hanger IMO, but an excellently executed image.

Excellent composition and processing. This little slot is known as the "keyhole" and that's a pretty high water level for it (spring runoff). In other seasons it's easier to get into it.

Pretty unique looking image from Zion, in my experience! I like the colors of the rock and the detailed ridges on the walls. Can't say I love the color of the water, but I like it for it's alternative from the norm.
