This little chap (1cm across) is confused . They are supposed to use flowers similar to their own colour. This one was on a petunia.
I've seen one this size take a bumble bee.
D200 Sigma 50MM Macro
Managed 3 stacked shots.
ISO 400 f8 125th second
Tripod remote release.
About 60% of frame.
Cheers

As a result of the stack, the detail throughout the spider is super. Very nice work.

John:
Good work on getting so close with the 50mm and doing a stack at that. Wonderful image.

Great photo, John! I like the perspective you have on this guy. It's a front-on, look 'em in the eye approach. Though not sure I would want to be the object of that look. Great details on the spider and nice contrast with the flower. Good he didn't pick a matching flower or you may have missed him and he would not have become a star on NPN.

Great image. The detail and dof of the spider work really well. The colors just pop.
