I am very sorry for my lack of participation in this forum for the last 2 months. Work, life, and the computer cyber wars prevented me from posting or commenting here. I hope all of that is now straightened out so I can be more active. I figured if you can forgive Lon for 4 months, then 2 months is nothing.

I took this one back in '08 and took another crack at processing it. I guess we all revisit shots we like after we feel we may have improved at our processing. I cropped this a bit to eliminate too much sky.

There is a larger version provided.

Comments and critiques always welcome, and thanks for looking,

Morris

Welcome back, Morris!! I had been wondering where you were. This is a fantastic shot. Nothing to critique here so I'll just sit back and enjoy it.

Me too Morris. I was wondering what happened to you. Glad you're back! Stunning light and color here. I especially like the warm light on the mountain and the brilliant yellow foliage. Both look fantastic against the pinks and blues in the sky.

I have been to this magical spot a couple of years and yours is quite an excellent take on it. Wonderful light and excellent color!

Welcome back and a grand entrance it is.

Beautiful Colorado autumn landscape Morris! I hope you have a nice print hanging in the living room! I love the colors throughout, but will make an observation on my color of the week, magenta. Very targeted area, but I would selectively reduce the magenta just in the slope of the mountain below the two tallest peaks - just above the treeline. That may be picky, but seeing that this should be printed large, I'd work on the tiniest of details to make this it's best.

And welcome back. And it wasn't 4 months! I posted the last image 3 months and 24 days ago! ok, and I forgive you.

Beautiful image Morris. Hope to see some more images soon.

Thanks all!

And Lon, your keen eye shows again, even after a looooong absence. That magenta on the slopes needs a touch more work. Thanks! :wavey:

What a positive and uplifeting image to return with Morris. I feel that I would like to see more at the bottom but overall it seems quite well-balanced to me.

Hi Morris. Wonderful image! Love the colors here, nice MT scene and the sky compliment. :toast:

I do wonder what type of noise reduction and or sharpening you used on the larger one. Looks like it could hold more detail (except on the mountain edge line). Just curious, do you use ACR 6.4 and do you capture sharpen your image a bit there (pre sharpen)?

Welcome back Morris. This is lovely. My initial thoughts are the same as Mark's. It appears noise reduction software was used excessively in parts here, especially noticeable in the middle right 1/3 part of the image where the orange trees are just to the left of them. Overall, it is a stunning capture. Glad to see you post again.

Hey, welcome back!

The small one looked a bit over saturated to me. The larger version however, is glorious!!!!!!!

Beautiful stuff.

Thanks again, ya'll!

Mark and Michael, I did use a bit too much noise reduction on this, not sure why I had so much noise in this shot at 100 iso, and lost a bit of detail. I will definitely rework from scratch to back that off a bit. Good eyes from both of you. And Mark, I only have ACR 4.6 but I do sharpen there due to not having L glass for my 5d. I usually apply a setting of around 100 to compensate for my lenses. Thanks.

This image has me dreaming about fall in Colorado! This is a wonderful rendition of this classic Colorado view. I love the soft light, clouds, and sections of yellow and green aspens interspersed. Beautiful!

Phenomenal color and light, Morris. Your composition and your use of the panoramic format works so very well. This must make an amazing print. Glad to see you are back; have missed seeing your work.

Love the lemon-lime trees in this Morris, along with nearly every other color imaginable! One of the better shots from this view I've seen. Very nicely composed and displayed-don't disappear now :wavey:
