Ice Goat

A mountain goat wandering above the Harding Ice Field, Kenai Fjords national park near Seward, Alaska.

Neither the goat nor the spectacular mountain scenery is uncommon in this part of alaska. Its the blue sky

Nikon D5000, Sigma 10-20, iso 200, f10,1/1250

Would love to hear your thoughts on this,
Anand :wavey:

Your composition really contrasts the scale of the mountain goat with his environment. It also gives the impression of the harshness of the elements that it has to deal with.

I love the expanse and ruggedness you have captured here Anand. The silhouette of the mountain goat also adds a sense of scale.

Spectacular scenery, and a goat too! Nice scene, and great sense of vast expanse here with the goat.

Nice animalscape, I would suggest cropping half of the sky though, it would strengthen the image IMO.

Anand,

Great nature image and story - how nice of this fella or lady to accommodate your picture taking. ;-) Without the goat, the center part of the image would be fairly empty and without detail, but how fortunate in this setting that it allows the goat to really stand out in the image. No nitpicks from me. Nicely captured.

This is beautifully done, Anand. I like the inclusion of the goat in the scene for a sense of scale.

Thank you for suggestions guys ! Greatly appreciated !

@Rick, Going for a high contrast BW was my first instinct. Thought the blue sky may be of interest, but i might end up preferring a BW version as well.
