The Pit

I recently returned from a week in Oregon. It was my first time visiting the state. We visited half of the coast line, three national forests, a state forest, the Columbia River Gorge and the Palouse. That's 1,996 miles of driving in 8 days. We probably logged over 35 miles of hiking too.

Also, I just want to mention that you folks up in Oregon have a bit of a clear cut logging problem. It was certainly the worst I have ever seen...

This is from one of the more obscure places we visited taken during an absolute down pour....

I can honestly say I've never seen this waterfall. Looks like a rough and tumble place. Love the vibrant greens and the primordial feel here.

This is wonderful, Michael. The light looks fantastic to me, has a bit of a glow that looks great. The water looks awesome! Shooting in that kind of rain can make for some really nice pictures as you show here! :toast:

We do have somewhat of a logging issue, that's for sure. Havent seen these falls either, but I love the view here...

Excellent frame her Michael. I might add that it is somewhat refreshing to see a falls from that area that isn't as well known too. Everything in this looks great! Only nit from me might be ( and it is very, very minor) is I'd like to have a little more room at the bottom below the fallen log. :toast: :toast:

Very nice waterfall/forest scene that you've captured here. It all works very well for me. I have to admit that a brief visit to Oregon a few years ago left me with the same impression re. clearcutting.

Beautiful water movement and Oregon green capture. I agree about the clear cutting. When I lived in Astoria, it seemed that the whole county was nothing but a toilet paper farm.

I missed this somehow earlier, but glad I found it. Very nicely done - perfectly saturated and excellent blend.
