Vallée de la Bienne

The Valée de la Bienne is a deep river valley cutting through the French Jura between St. Claude and Morbier. About midway along its length, below the vlllage of La Rixouse, can be found the Cascade de la Pissevieille. This image is from the bottom of the limestone cliff which forms the topmost tier of the cascade - or it would if the fall was in spate.

(The large version has less compression)

This is gorgeous. The composition works for me with the trunks forming a nice framework. The soft lighting on the foliage gives it a delicate beauty.

Beautiful work Julian. The fresh greens of spring juxtaposed against the colorful rock works very well.

This is lovely. The different shades of green really compliment the warm tones in the limestone. Excellent composition. Leaves me with a feeling of awe.

Wonderfully delicate spring colors Julian. The red and gray rock serves as a beautiful backdrop.

Love the underlying colors of the bg. What a showcase for the new growth leaves.

Julian, this is an excellent image. Beautiful soft light and i like the lush greens in contrast to the escarpment.

I love the spring greens against the colorful rock, Julian. The tree on the right isn't working so well for me though, so I prefer a somewhat square crop of the lower left.

Julian,

This is a real spring beauty. Right up my alley of course. I love the mix of bright spring greens with earth-toned backdrop of the rock wall. The taller tree on the right does a nice job framing the entire scene. Beautiful image Julian.
