Found this fella in my compost pile and nearly put a spade through him! Put a plant pot over hime and went to get the camera.
Taken with a wide angle Left the trowel in to convey the garden feel along with the row of peas .

400 ISO 80th at f13
80% of frame.
Levels in Paint Shop Pro
Sharpen CZM

Seems right to me John - I don't think garden wildlife has a separate gallery  Good shot of my favourite amphibian.

Hi John,

Nice colour and nice detail on the toad and this image is totally fine in this gallery. I'm not sure the image needs quite so much foreground (especially given its out-of-focus nature), so if it were mine I'd be tempted to crop at least 1/2 of what's below the frog out (which would also lower the frog in the frame and "ground it" a little more). You might see some comments suggesting a cloning out of the object in the upper right corner - I'm thinking a little more cropping would take care of that without the need to clone!

Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

John, I love this image of the toad. I understand your reasoning for leaving the trowel in. It's the same reasoning I usually use. I think I'd try a little more cropping from the bottom and right (meaning the trowel would be gone), though.

Nice capture. It looks like it's having a bad day with that amazing frown. The color in the eye is very attractive. I'm glad you missed him. The repost is a big improvement.
