Columbine

Taken outside my home. I love these delicate blossoms. Since these blossoms are so low to the ground, getting into position to focus was a challenge.

In LR3 I adjusted white balance, blacks, clarity and vibrance. Added slight vignetting to the edges to draw attention to the blossom.

Taken with a Canon 50D and Sigma 180 mm macro lens, manual mode and focus; natural light.

Doris: I like your POV and the color palette especially. I would be very tempted to clone away the various small black stuff on the lower petal and the lone spot above. >=))>

The shot seems a little bit dark overall. I love the beautiful close-up composition, and the sharp focus on the center of the flower. I like the very soft leaves in the foreground and the blurred background. Nice shot, Doris!

Well composed, Doris. I believe I would clone out the dark specks on the blossom.

Yes, columbines can be hard to photograph. You have done well with this shot. I like your choice of POV and you have good focus on the stamens. I agree with cloning out the dirt spots.
