Spring Day Mono Lake

Went to the Navy Beach area of Mono Lake a couple weeks ago. Snowing on Deadman summit, lightly, raining lightly at the lake. I'd be interested on your thoughts about this comp and the overall mood of the image. Thanks as always.

Excellent comp and high-key processing, Cory. I love it.

Cory, I like the way you contrasted the slight flow with the steadyness of the rocks. Your processing adds an interesting impression of weightlessness.

I really like the position of the fore/mid ground elements and how their reflections provide additional detail in the water. Everything leads nicely to the muted distant mountains. Very nice indeed.

Nice work on the processing, and the comp is great.

The high key processing works fine here. Well composed and excellent black & white conversion

Hi Cory - The comp seems good, but for me I would like to see a little more separation between the horizon; possible a darker sky a bit or something... Might bring out the mood a bit more also.

A very well balanced comp to my eye. The three main rock stacks that are placed slightly to the left in the frame are balanced nicely by the bg hill on the right. The high key processing looks excellent here, although I could see the rocks themselves a little darker amongst the lighter surroundings as well. The rocks seem a little gritty too, but perhaps that is the web sharpening. Your composition is superb.

Not really a stunner IMO, but the composition makes me look longer and deeper in to this and I enjoy the low contrast, the distant, nearly obscure horizon. It all works for me, Cory. Very nice.

Very surreal composition achieved here! Have seen several different images of Mono Lake, and this one rivets my attention. This 'monochromatic' (no pun intended) appearance really embellishes/accentuates the rock texture detail. Nice touch.

i like the tones. comp doesn't seem quite perfectly balanced to my eye (unlike some of the others here, i see!) space on right disturbs a little.

I like the high key feel here Cory, nice for something different from Mono Lake. That said I am not 100% sold on the comp. Cannot put my finger exactly on it but I might have tried to balance it by bringing the rocks to the right a tad more to even it out. Still very nice regardless though.

Though the high key works in most parts, but unlike others, I find the area around center of horizon a tad too bright and distracting. The composition is lovely and rest of the presentation apt.
