Prairie Trillium

Prairie Trillium (Trillium recurvatum) in my yard.

About twenty years ago I decided to let much of my yard go back to nature. Fortunately I had never herbicided it so many of native woodland wildflowers came back. This trillium for example.

Nikon 700; Nikkor 200mm; 1/25s at f/8 -067; Tripod; ACR

Comments and criticisms always welcome.

Stunning color for those purplish petals, David. Nice composition with the right angle to show the innards of the flower. Highly pleasing

A fine image David. Good subject separation and a very appealing color palette. Beautiful work. No suggestions.

I applaud you for letting your yard revert. (I've tried that in a couple of small areas with very limited success.) The veined purple sepals (I think they're sepals) are really outstanding.

Wonderful clarity of detail, David, and a strong composition, with just the right amount of stem to set off the flower to perfection. Beautiful !!
