Same location and spec as previous, however the tusks are more visible here, likewise that bubbling, undulating' hide of a skin, bristling with fine hairs.

Not sure if this one was suffering a little with Gingivitis?

HI Steve,

I did like the previous shot, but have to say I like this one considerably more! Love the colour palette and lighting (and that background is just so perfect!) - exposure (especially on the tusks) spot on and very nice detail throughout the entire subject. Compositionally this one works well for me too. Some may say the out-of-focus body in the foreground detracts, but your comments on "shooting through the pod" on your previous shot have brainwashed me enough into not perceiving it as a distraction and thinking it adds to the image - good job on that  !!

Well done - excellent shot!

Cheers...

Brad

PS: Did I mention that the sharpening looks really good to me?

Technically a perfect portrait image Steve; low angle, excellent detail, good comp, perfect DOF, awesome BG. No nits for me. :toast:

Really like the comp and you've brought back memories of my youth..You know, the Beatles & that Magical Mystery Tour thing.
Not "sitting on a cornflake", the mounds of seal flesh around him makes for a unique image..
Excellent details and colors, it makes you want to stay awhile to take it all in.
Goo goo g' joob

Hi Steve,
Prefer this one to the previous post, more superbly detailed subject and less "through the pod." However, this one still retains the pod feel with him wedged between those two rounded bodies. BG is excellent in color and texture for this portrait.
