Purple

I liked the curving petal in this flower. Wanted to rim-light the edges.
Used 2 continuous lamps from back of the flower on left & right. Used a small reflector to throw some subtle light in the front.

Techs:
Nikon D300 + Tamron 180mm macro + tripod
f/22, 1s, ISO200

Critiques/suggestions to improve are most welcome.

This is beautiful Balakumar. Love the curving petals and the rich purple against the black background. The lighting is excellent.

Elegant and beautiful Balakumar. What a great job you've done in drawing the flower with light. My only suggestion and it's subjective and a nit would be to preserve your aspect ratio but crop a little tighter. I want a triptych of callas. Wish I had this one in white for my third. A very fine image for my tastes.

Thank you all for your kind comments. Glad that you liked it.
Appreciate your time.

@Pat: The outer black region is due to extra canvas that I added. I'll see how a crop would look (with same aspect ratio). Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I really like your lighting in this picture, Balakumar. The rim lighting with the dark BG adds a mysteriousness to this flower. Beautiful!

The lighting on this is outstanding. The curves and how they affect the brightness really make this dynamic.

Very elegant - beautiful lines and a bit of texture.
I'd like to see this in a more traditional vertical crop - but exquisite as is.
