Spotted Harrier

Spotted Harrier photographed early in the morning in north-western New South Wales. A large crop but I like the pose. These birds occur in dry open country across inland Australia.

Canon 7D, EF500 f.4 + 1.4x, beanbag on car window, ISO 800, f/8, 1/1600, vertical crop from horizontal image.

It is a great pose. I like how she is looking down too. (I assume it is a female?)

Great Harrier pose, Simon. It's a classic hunting posture, but I rarely see it photographed.

I like the wing position that you have captured, Simon. I also like the way that you have composed this. Nice image.

Simon,
I agree with you about the pose. I also really like the composition you've chosen for this. Have never seen one of these. Thanks for sharing. :toast:
