Adamus Arch

As I'm told Marc was likely the first to photograph this unique and unexpected arch deep within an Arizona slot canyon, plus he showed it to me... I spent a lot of time here experimenting with wide angle comps to capture the entire arch, but in reviewing the images I felt they were a bit to busy, or had some distracting elements, so I settled on a 4x5 crop showing just the "foot" of the arch with some nice glow in the background. Thanks for looking!

Nice!!!!! because of your presentation, it doesn't jump right out at me as the same arch. That's a good thing. I love Marc's interpretation of this scene, but also your originality of it as well. Beautiful light!

This is processed very well and the comp is great ta boot! I'm not so sure about being the first to photograph this slot...that's a hard claim to back, but I'm sure he at least has the best shot of it. Its crazy how many photogrphers are out there that don't post on any forums

Stunning work, Chris. Beautiful lines and shape. The textural details are just wonderful and the color is luxuriously rich. For an image of rock, it sure has a flowing silken form to it. Love it.

Rick, yeah, no way I was the first person to shoot this slot! But this place... this room here, you'd understand if you were there. I didn't make such a claim either though, and it is sandstone in the SW...

Maybe if Marc if is a half native american indian guide. Those indian guides are such a rip off but if they take you to a place that is less photographed I find it to be worth it. I think the shot is perfect minus the magenta stripe but that's just personal opinion. I'm sure it find it's way in there as the golden light mixes into the cold shadows.

Marc, of course hard to tell without a pulled back image of this portion...but I understand what your saying though. I already knew you wouldn't make a claim like that, so I apologize if it sounded like I was responding like you said you had been the first.
