Spring Colors II

A few weeks ago I posted another image from this location with a different composition. I would like to know which composition you prefer and why. My composition possibilities were limited because I had to stay on the pathway so as not to damage any plants with my tripod and/or feet. You can see my first post by clicking on my Gallery. Once again, compression is not being kind to this image.

Critiques and comments are very welcome and appreciated. Thanks for looking!

Carol I like this comp better than the first. The pathway feels more open and I like how the FG trees add a sense of strength. There is just enough balance of pink/red/white from the blooms and greenery from the trees. Both photos are very good but this one is my favorite.

I'll echo Cristina's sentiments and vote for this one as well. Gorgeous color and perfect lighting conditions for this type of scene.

Man this is a tough call Carol. I like them both. I can see this one appealing to many since the path is open with a clear sense of direction and a feeling of wonder what's past these big trees. On the other hand your first image has the sense of being in the middle of the azaleas and there is a lot more to come and smell of them is delicious. I also prefer the darker BG of the forest in the first image. So which one....flip a coin ...I like them both. How's that for definitive answer!

I like this version much better. The path curving behind the tree trunks puts me on the path and wanting to follow it around the bend to see what's there. This version has so much more depth and I'm a sucker for depth.

I'll cast my vote for this post Carol, for me the two trees on the left give this image more of a solid feel. Both are really well done.

I much prefer this image Carol. I like the strong verticals of the fg trees and the curve of the path suggests more depth in the scene to me. This image draws me in and makes me participate in it. The first seems much more static to me. It may be as simple as the curved path. (smile) In any event, I like this one very much.

I also prefer this one, because of the position and direction of the path. Beautiful colors, light and detail.

This is a great picture. I liked this composition. I guess the vertical lines add strength to the image.

Both are great but I like this one better. The curved path just leads me thru the image. It could be my monitor, but the pathway seems to have a slight magenta cast to it. Beautiful work. :toast:
