Spring, Bradley Fork

It's been a long time since I posted on NPN and a very long time since I posted in the Landscape gallery. Life just doesn't leave enough time to photograph, let alone post. Enough excuses..now on with it. I spent 3 days on the N Carolina side of the Smokies and the Southern most part of the Blue Ridge Pkwy last week. Early spring was in full force around 2500 feet. I challenged myself to visit new locations and look for unique compositions that defined spring. This was taken on a cold, rainy morning during a wonderful 5 mile hike along the Bradley Fork in GSMNP. Looking forward to your thoughts.

1D Mark IIN (I might be the last one left taking landscape images with this camera. I love it for avian/wildlife/portrait work but look forward to a full frame for landscape soon.)

I like the feeling and comp. of this image. The branch does two different things. One it forms a nice frame for the rock in the water and it leads my eye on into the image, plus it sets off the nice blurred water below it.

This almost seems chaotic at a glance but then the branch is placed perfectly into the composition Kirk..

I like this very much, Kirk. It really says "Spring" to me. The water motion is very nice and I think your comp with the branch worked great. Sure makes me want to be there.

Nice to see you posting again Kirk. This looks like a beautiful stream. I like the white flows capping the fluvial motion. I think your processing is right on.

This is very nice Kirk. I like the way you've placed the branches so that the rock in the right side of the stream is unblocked. Also love the bright spring greenery on the branches.

Lovely greens Kirk. Gosh I miss the Smokies.
I can see some subtle highlight dodging of the greens up front making them pop a bit- on the critique side

Great job and thanks for sharing
