Peace

This image was taken while on a hike in Rocky Mountain NP. A small stream tumbling through the rocks had created this crystal clear pool and, while its sound was almost imperceptible because of the wind blowing through the pines, the scene was so restful that I had to stop to appreciate it and try to bring that feeling home with me. It was fairly early in the morning and the shadows created some exposure challenges. Nevertheless, I took several exposures and would like your excellent-as-always feedback on this image. it was taken with my Hassy H4D-40 with a 35-90mm lens.

I like the shadow on the rocks but the trees seem a little bright by comparision. The vivid foliage tends to lead my eye away from the water. Maybe a pano crop to the top of the darkest shadow on the rocks would work better for me. I love the included bluebells and the tumbling stream. Beautiful reflections, too.

As you mentioned, a very peaceful and restful scene. That pool looks mighty inviting! My onlu nit concerns the LRC - I wish the blue flowers had been more incorporated into the scene.

This has some nice possibilities. I like the peaceful feeling. I think that if this were mine I would crop it down some from the top and the up to the bottom of the rocks, to give it pano feel. Just my preference.
