Deep Blue

One of the more unusual ice formations I saw this February from the popular Dream Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. The deep fracture to the left seemed to glow with an almost neon-like aqua color under the surface. There was a myriad of tiny air bubbles surrounding it and the other less-defined fractures as well. Photographing in the early morning shade added to the ice's already frigid blue color.

Beautiful! The multitude of tiny air bubbles really put this over the top for me.

I like the lines and the starry, starry nigh illusion with the tiny air bubbles. Nice find Joshua.

Nice abstraction here. Looks a lot like tree limbs in the rain. It also has interesting layers that give it depth.

and texture.

I love ice fracture shots and Dream lake has to be the best place to find them. Nicely done.

Beautiful Joshua. Love the detail and texture and, of course, the color.

That glowing fault line is stunning - and a perfect point of interest in this shot. Wonderful details and color, Joshua. I love the composition, too.
