Here's a shot from Death Valley National Park in California. I used a macro lens to capture the tiny salt crystals on the salt flats. The place is huge, but I am always intrigued by tiny details like these.

1.6 seconds at f/16

Varina, I often forget to look past the "big picture" to find tiny details - this is a great example for us.
Hard to judge scale, but I suspect the crystals are very tiny. Something else in the frame, perhaps, to add demention might be effective.
Very cool!

Lovely detail in those crystals. Do you get more than 1:1 magnification with that lens on your camera? Great seeing!

Thanks so much, everyone! I appreciate your kind words and helpful suggestions.

The largest of these crystals is 3-5 mm in width.

Ahhhh....the things we look past as we gaze at the Big Picture!
Very nice and a good lesson to look closely at what's around us.
The detail in the crystal formation is great!
