I'm not sure about this one - it was a very overcast day, so I overexposed the water so that the teal was not underexposed. Do you think it works?

Hi Oscar
Yes it works! Perhaps not as 'conventional' wildlife image but definitely as a creative shot. The wing blur and water ripples add much to the dynamism of the image. The minimalistic feel achieved by restricting the information available to the viewer strengthens the overall effect, greatly - a bird, some water, the interaction. Really strong.
My only nit is that the water (to the left) is chopped off a little too abruptly - if you have more, add it back to the crop.
Don't be surprised if it isn't everyones cuppa. But do you like it?
Cheers,
Chris

Hi Chris - yes I do like it! Unfortunately, there is a reflection of a tall green hide to the left, so that is wh I cropped it out, so not much I can do there undortunately

Hi Oscar. Good idea and its a pity the bird wasn't to the left- flying into the shot so to speak. Could be arranged no doubt !

Works really well Oscar and don't worry what other people think, you are behind the camera and you press the shutter button. I like hi key images myself, very arty and I like this alot, also the flying out of the photo composition works well. The Teal's trademark green feathers makes him pop out. Very nice and different

I agree with John about the composition, but well done on getting something a bit different.

Oscar
Craig has a point about not worrying what others think but then isn't that pure and simply the whole the point of this forum ?
If not then I,ve got it all wrong

I find it very appealing and I enjoy the very high key look.

Looks good to me too, Oscar. Although I do agree with Chris re the water to the lefthand side, the include more of it and you'll have a better looking image.
