Limpkin Opening Shell

Gatorland last year. I had been shooting this fellow feeding when he brought a muscle in close. Rather than try to get the 2x off, I decided to go for a very tight head shot and concentrate on trying to catch the opening of the muscle.

1D MK IV ISO 800 500 F4L w 2x 1/250 F11 on tripod with Sidekick IS on.

I like this very much, I appreciate tight portraits but if you could I would add a smidgeon of extra canvas along the left side to give the tip of beak and muscle a little more room. Great job!

Looks like this fellow knows his business. I really like the tight head shot and the good view of the mussel.

Good looking image, your move to go tight has worked well IMO. Super behavioral shot too. Good work, Rick.
