Ului

Just recently processed this one, taken just under a year ago while scuba diving in the Whitsunday Islands / Great Barrier Reef. A week prior, Cyclone Ului hit the area hard, hence making the water quite turbid. I don't know what type of fish it is.

Taken with a buddy's P&S in an underwater housing. I'd have liked a little more room on the bottom, but c'est la vie. All comments appreciated.

You already mentioned my biggest nit, but this is still a very nice shot. I like the angle and the centered composition. Some of the highlights look blown though, and the shot needs a little bit of CW rotation to get it perfectly level.

Thanks for sharing.

Very cool shot. I like the light/dark background, the effect of all the colors, the very close-up view and the fact that you can see the side fins so well.

Marsel covered the possible nits, so I can only add I love the angle of the shot, giving the Ului great expression.

Very unusual and interesting picture Kenn :^) I don't know too much about fish species but an old friend of mine used to have a marine aquarium at home and from what I remember of his fish, judging by the shape of this one's head, what appears to be teeth, and the colours, my guess is it's some kind of Parrot Fish, but whatever you do, don't go betting you're last dollar on my hunch ;^)

Very cool Kenn. I like the head on point of view and the really interesting background, the turbidity adds a lot of interest. P&S camera no limit to great photography in the right hands! :toast:
