lovely light here Simon - well exposed and a peculiar species!
I like the juxtaposition of the diagonal perch and the bird facing diagonally the other way

A really nice looking bird with a great exposure Simon. Nice early or late light it looks like to me. A very simple comp, which I like. Very nice detail and sharpness on the bird. Well done.

Awesome lighting and the natural perch is really nice - shows off the bird beautifully

Gorgeous Simon. The lighting and simplicity really stand out for me. Personally I'd give the bird a little more room on the right if I could.

Great job on the exposure, Simon, and a nice head turn.

Looks like very sweet light, Simon. Great pose and perch. Exposure and composition are also perfect for this image. What made you choose such a small aperture?

Nice feel to this image, simple yet very interesting. The eye stands out very well and is the focal point for me. The hint of warmth in the feathers is beautiful.

Thank you all for your comments.
Govind asked about the small aperature f/13 - it was left over from an earlier setting when I was trying for some cockatoos in flight just about to alight on a nearby branch.

Terrific techs, and love that warm light. I also think the simple perch adds a lot in terms of focussing attention on the bird.

Nice!
