Moon & Alpenglow

Work has kept me away from doing much landscape photography, but hopeful things will slow a bit and I can get back into the flow. There have been a lot of fantastic images here on NPN this winter. Keeps me inspired!
This is an image shot back in 1988 with velvia 50. This is a moon set over collegefords glacier, Alaska. One shot as is.
Comments always welcome, large version provided. Thanks

Absolutely beautiful Kyle - great positioning of the moon against the glowing peaks - very peaceful image.

It's nice to have such a light subject as a snowy glacier down in the shadows of the photo, maintaining some detail despite the lack of light.

some awesome mood here Kyle...in 1988 I was but 6 years old :wavey:
I like the detail visible in the snow and the colours on top of the mountain

Lovely alpenglo image. Nice simple composition and excellent exposure to make the most of the colors. You captured a magical moment with this one.

It is sweet, Kyle. Such a peaceful scene.

Glad work is keeping you so busy, at least from a $$ standpoint.

Magnificent! I would lighten the whole image ever so slightly.

Absolutely perfect conditions and timing! That soft "first light" glow is awesome. I think you tripped the shutter at just the right moment. Any longer and the glow might have been too bright.

Kyle,

Sorry, I'm a little late to the party. Wow, I remember this from seeing it so many years ago. What a classic example why so many photographers loved Velvia. This is a special capture and technically this looks like you couldn't do anything better all the way from the capture to scanning and then processing for the web. Beautifully captured and presented.

Superb! The moon, sky, alpenglow, snow and rocks are all in perfect harmony. This composition takes full advantage of a magical moment.
