This was shot in 2007 and it's original destination was... the bin (lights were so awful!!) I tried this conversion in Photoshop, so I might say it has been shot in Photoshop.

From my trip to Tanzania in 2007.

Hope you like the result.
Ah, i forgot... it is a Tawny eagle (well indeed there are two of them if you look carefully there's a harpoon o the second one on the right side)

chers, Luca

P.S. comments and critiques much appreciated.

I like the density and sharpness which make this a true silhouette. Since this was worked in PS, I guess it will be a little tough to comprehend what has happened with the background. A sense of sky or depth or height would be nice but maybe not possible.

Nicely framed and interesting background colors.

Neat--a very nice silhouette, some nice curves thanks to the eagles beak...

I have some suggestions--feel free to ignore if you don't like them: Since you evidently are not averse to using PS here, I would grab the left side here (transform), and pull it over so the beak is 1/3 the distance from the left side. Then i would brighten the area around the eagle (especially the part to the right side) so that it is approximately the same brightness as the extreme bottom left corner here. Hope that made sense! :wavey:

Luca,
I really like the background color and the neat edge of the eagle in a very proud pose. :toast: :wavey:

I agree with Stan - the right half of the image is very nice but too much empty space on the left. Go for a square crop and brighten the background above the head and this will be a keeper.

Thanks to all. When i reworked this image my PP capacity was near to 0 and this is the result of my ability at those times. Now that my techniques is improved something better could result. I'l try.

Thanks again for comments and suggestions.

Cheers, Luca

I love that rich color behind the bird. The softness of it is really nice. I would love to see a tighter crop to make the bird a larger percentage of the frame. Other than that, I like it! Nice job! And if this is the extent of your ability a few years ago, I'd say you did pretty darn well. I'd love to see what you could do with it now!

Hi all, some answers. @Robert: it was a cloudy day and the bg, even if reworked reports the differences between the darker and the lighter clouds. It is difficult with this BG to try and get a sort of "3d" effect but it is a path I could get in.
@Stan: I tried your suggestions and I found: "move " to the 1/3 works and let the bird enough space to fly into. About the color I'm not sure, the cloud effect would be lost, even if you're right it would make the silhouette pop, I'm still discussing with myself about it.

Ciao.
