My wife found these on our recent hike with our dog at a state park along Lake Superior. Needless to say she spent the next 1/2 hour hiking with only the dog.

ID anyone?

10D, 180mm, 1/3s, f/20, -0.6, mr-14ex FEC -1, PS postprocessing.

excellent find.

I love the warm colors of the mushrooms. I like how you've composed the scene as well. Nice little family pose

Jim,

Nice work on this one. Nice job of finding a good grouping of mushrooms that filled the vertical frame. Excellent sharpness and well illuminated, a shot to be proud off. :toast: :toast:

Wonderful lighting and how the fungus moves through the frame are my favorites here.

Possibly a Pholiota species, maybe P. aurivella or P. limonella.

From the DK Mushroom Book: "This is part of a large complex of Pholiotas that is very common in the fall. The mushrooms have slimy caps and stems and occur densely clustereed on wood. Many species have been named, but reliable criteria exist for delineating species in this complex"

Very nice photo, the lighting is great.

Gorgeous. The mushrooms seem to glow. the light is almost surreal. You mentioned PS postprocessing. If much of this look is due to your post processing, I'd love to learn your technique.
