I've been shooting so much in the Avian dept. I decided to get a little closer to things for a change. I went out the other afternoon and at the end of the shoot i came across some Bird of paradise leaves that were frost bitten and dead from our cold spell. I said to myself,"Self, this is what you have left so make something of it" Almost as if it were an assignment. I had a blast and have many neat images to choose from. Hope you like it.

Having not posted or commented much, I was lurking around the macro/close-up gallery to see what was new when I found this interesting shot. And I said to myself, "Self, this is really really neat! The colors and texture are interesting and I like the diagonal composition. Maybe I should say Well done!"

I can't decide which I like more..The image or the baring of your soul in this note Cheryl.."Self" examination, performed regularly, is good for the soul

Love the sweeping curves and diagonal line, great bokeh Cheryl. The best use of f/3.2 I've seen in a long time

Graceful indeed. This is beautiful! Very simple, very smooth. I love the soft curves, and the soft focus. Technically and artistically perfect. I'd love to see more from this collection!

I love the delicate feel of this picture. I like the soft focus and your choice of comp. And those soft curvy lines really give a nice touch. Great picture!
