Ring-necked Duck

From a very foggy morning. I like how the tail just melts into the water. I used the camera's flash on this, but I don't think it did much at this distance, as pics without look pretty much the same.

50D, 500mm, Iso 200, 1/200, F4.5 Camera Flash Full frame.

Nice tranquil scene Sharon, I love the warm browns and oranges against the neutral FG and BG. The eye is gorgeous and has a nice little catch light - this may be where the flash helped you out. Lovely image - well done.

Nice, Sharon. The face doesn't seem to be fully sharp. I think maybe your focus was back a little. I like that you caught the detail in the ring of water around the Duck. :toast:

I like the high key look of this image. You have a nice low angle and good relfection. Might try and increase the sharpening on the face.

Wonderful image, Sharon. It just seems like the lady is floating in space. Very painterly aspect to it. Had thoughts of it being a Federal duck stamp. Nice composition and a wonderful mood projected. This is a photo I'd hand on my wall.

Beautiful capture. The serenity is wonderful. I think the fog and muted lighting may be a real plus for the feeling generated.

Very nice look at this ring-necked, Sharon. I like the subdued, almost monochrome colors. Maybe a tad soft in the bill area.
