There was frost on the pine needles and there was fog that kept blowing in and out, occasionally exposing some sun.
I was attracted by the soft light it produced.

Lovely winter colors Dan and the light is beautiful, the cut-off tree on the right is a bit distracting though....

Simple and effective, nice light. I like subtlety of snow on the pine needles.. Snow cure at the left lower right feels out of balance, but this is subjective.

Not as powerful as your recent post for me but still a lovely capture of these trees and the area.

This is nice, Dan. Could see cropping the tree peaking in from the right and just carefully dodging the slightly lighter center tree to make it more of a focal point light-wise.

I love the soft light and muted tones. Wonderful feel to this one. I find the tree on the right throws me off a bit, though. I like Tony's suggestion about the crop.

The subtle light is very nice Dan, brings out the slight frosting on the trees.

The conditions you've been getting produce some very nice soft, muted color that I really like.

I love that kind of light here, Dan. Anything to break the strength of our sun at these altitudes. I like the brown frosted grass and the blue in the sky, and the frost on the trees adds so much texture. Lovely shot.

Nice, Dan. The soft light works well. I agree with Harley and Tony regarding the right-most tree.

Dan,
This quiet and subtle in it's colors and character. I don't mind the tree on the right as it's not distracting or taking away from the scene. The soft light is certainly a plus here.
