Southern Alps' sunrise

This is a sunrise picture taken on the same ridge and a very short time after my first "Tarn in heaven" post. I didn't find a good way of avoiding these sun flares but now looking at them I almost think that they add something. What's your opinion?

Here's how it looks with the flares cloned out.

Andrius, I much prefer the flare cloned out

Better without the lens flare Andrius. Beautiful golden light on the grasses and still enough detail in the shadows to compliment that. I might try to pull a little more detail and color out of that sky though.

Nice view! I like it without the flares, but I think this would be better if you had used a lens hood or something else to block the sun when taking the shot.JM2C. :toast:

I guess I don't much miss the flares once they're gone. I do like the strong and layered light you were able to bring to this.

I really like the way the sun is hidden from view, but you get a sense of the bright sunrise light. The glare helps there, but I do find the flare spots to be distracting. The background peaks in cool shadow against the warm FG grasses is just wonderful.

Ah, just noticed the 2nd version. Perfecto!

Andrius, this is a majestic and very impressive scene, an excellent shot (without the lensflares). I also keep some pictures with lensflares on file, but in this case they would destroy the serene atmosphere.
