Leaf Katydid

I found this chap while on a workshop in Thanda Game Reserve a few weeks ago. He was a little skittish, but not unmanageably so. this allowed me enough time to set up my flash with a home-made softbox to the left of camera, almost at 90 degrees to the lens (105mm macro on FF).

Any C & C always welcome and appreciated (for this particular image this is still in 'rough' post-production, so still deciding what to do in terms of colour, saturation, contrast, etc.)

Thanks for looking

E

Really nice softbox lighting and it really pops on the dark BG. Nice job Emil !!

Emil

A cracking shot couldn't have a better BG.

Wonderful sharp picture of an interesting bug. He has such a realistic leaf camoflage on his wings. If this were my picture I would probably have cropped it in just a little closer to be able to see more detail on the katydid. Just my humble opinion.
