Just got back from my Costa Rica Workshop and thought I would share this photo. The conditions were so right for this photo to work, grey clouds in the background, warm late afternoon sunlight coming through in the opposite direction and a pair of Macaws putttin on a show above. In this series of shots the birds basically filled the entire frame witha 520mm eq.

The light is incredible. I've yet to see this species of macaw in CR, Todd. Where did you shoot them?

I don't know what to say except brilliant image. I love the colors, the fantastic detail, the dark background, the lighting, the head turn, and the composition. This is so over the top I really can't find anything to fault with it. Stellar Todd.

Just gorgeous!
Great flight pose, brilliant colors, nice BG and even eye contact!
A bit more room on the bottom would be good, imo. I'd also move him off-center, leaving more room ahead of him.

Thanks everyone for the comments, Max-I shot this in the arenal area, and I am told these guys are not in Costa Rica very much as well.
