Winter Columbine

Another cold, dreary winter day, but decided to use the time to work with my macro lens. This is part of a Columbine leaf from my yard, photographed on white foam core board near my front window. Natural light was minimal today, but it still worked.

I added a texture layer called Apple Blush (from Flypaper Textures) with 86% opacity and then brightened it up a bit in Viveza. Camera is a Nikon D70 with Tamron 90MM Macron Lens shot at f32.

Maybe it would make a nice book cover, or magazine cover because of the space on the left? Plenty of room for text.

Just a great way to spend a dreary day. Your comments are always much appreciated.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I find it challenging to know which images look best with textures, but I think I'm finding my way. Thanks again.
