American Goldfinch

I followed a group of these Goldfinch around for several minutes flying from thistle to thistle eating the seeds this past Autumn. I really enjoyed trying to get them singled out and a pose I liked.

This comp works for me Mitch. I like the perch and the nice head turn. BG works well too. It is hard to judge critical sharpness and detail at this size, but it looks good best I can tell.

MItch, I like the downward looking pose and the interesting perch. I think the background works well too. IQ looks good at this size.

Mitch,

I like the pose, the perch and the bird's head angle. Sharpness looks good at the size posted. I might increase the exposure of the finch selectively to see if you could bring out more details in the dark wings. I might consider cropping a little from the top to more of a 4 x 5 format.

I love to see & hear this species.
