This Wyoming Kittentail peeking out of the snow caught my eye last spring. I especially like the drop of water clinging to the blossom. I cropped to exclude some blown-out hightlights but not sure I eleminated them all.

Nancy:
Good find and capture. The drop is special. Wish for slightly more DOF to get the entire bloom in focus but the softness here is okay as well.

Love the juxtaposition of two seasons in this. Highlight control looks good, you'll usually have some specular highlights on ice/snow anyway. I might be inclined to increase the brightness slightly particularly in the purples. Nice find!

I like this as posted Nancy. I might sharpen the flower a little and bring up the luminosity on the petals as has already been suggested. Great contrast in this as well as textures and I do like the droplets.

Nancy: Terrific find and a solid capture. A touch more light on the center (a little fill perhaps?) would suit me but this works as is. Nicely done.>=))>

Wow, very neat capture! I like the feel of peering right down into the depression to view the melting snow. I bit more DOF would be nice, and I think that could be accomplished with your camera by shooting using aperture priority.

Nancy, I totally agree. That drop of water grabbed my eye, and then I had a chance to explore the ice crystals about the blossom. I'm wondering whether it's possible to open up the shadows in the blossom a bit more ?

Cheers,

Carol
